On Friday, October 18, our first-graders from Cardinal Forest Elementary School joined forces with the West Springfield High School varsity football team and cheerleaders for a special literacy event. These young readers teamed up with the athletes on the football field to promote the importance of reading in our community and inspire a love of books in the next generation of Spartans!

This eager group has been studying various school gardens throughout the world, along with using Edpuzzle to learn about composting, measuring, and growing seedlings! They are also writing about the life cycle of plants and studying various types of soil!
Our gardeners are also studying and analyzing soil and will determine what will grow best in our garden
