In Second Grade, our language arts focus is reading accuracy, fluency and comprehension strategies. We continue to foster development of vocabulary and word study skills. In writing we focus on fiction and non-fiction writing, as well as the editing process

Our major mathematics units include: number sense, addition and subtraction with regrouping, telling time to the 5 minute interval, fractions, and counting money up to $2.00.

In science, we focus on weather, matter and magnets, and life cycles of Monarch butterflies. In social studies, we learn about Native Americans, Mexican culture, famous Americans, and the story of Mali.
