November Community Morning Meeting VIDEO

As we continue to foster a positive and inclusive environment, we are thrilled to continue, for the second year in a row, a schoolwide Community Morning Meeting that aims to bring students of all grade levels together.

The primary goal of this event is to strengthen our sense of community and promote cross-grade connections. Each class will be a mix of kindergarten through 6th-grade students, fostering friendships and a supportive atmosphere that transcends traditional grade boundaries.

We have planned engaging activities and icebreakers suitable for all age groups. These activities are designed to encourage interaction, collaboration, and the building of lasting connections among our diverse student body.

This Community Morning Meeting consisted of learning about the tradition of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and how it began. Students listened to Balloons Over Broadway, written by Melissa Sweet.  This is the true story of Tony Sarg, who was the master puppeteer who invented to first balloons for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.  Our Red Birds that collaborated and assisted each other with making their own balloon float.

Creating a schoolwide sense of community is crucial for the holistic development of our students. By mixing students across grade levels, we hope to instill a sense of camaraderie, empathy, and shared responsibility, fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and connected.
